The Village of Evendale
Special Council Meeting
August 19th, 2009
The Village of Evendale Special Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Apking at 7:00pm.
Roll call- The following Council members were present: Ms. Carolyn Smiley-Robertson, Mr. Stiney Vonderhaar, Mr. John Ranz, Jr., Mr. Bill Puthoff, Mr. Jeff Albrinck and Mr. Doug Lohmeier. Also present: Village of Evendale Chief of Police, Gary Foust, Village of Evendale Fire Chief, Rick Cruse; Recreation Manager; Dave Nichols, Service Department Manager; Jim Bothe, Assistant to the Mayor, Jack Cameron; Village Solicitor, Tim Burke; and Village Clerk, Barb Rohs.
Presentation of Ordinance #09-34
A motion to read Ordinance #09-34 ORDINANCE APPOINTING NIEL C. KORTE AS POLICE CHIEF FOR THE VILLAGE OF EVENDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY by title only was made by Mr. Vonderhaar, seconded by Mr. Lohmeier and unanimously approved on roll call. A motion to suspend the second and third readings of #09-34 was made by Mr. Ranz, seconded by Mr. Albrinck and unanimously approved on roll call. A motion to adopt #09-34 as an emergency was made by Mr. Puthoff, seconded by Mr. Albrinck and unanimously approved on roll call. Mayor Apking declared #09-34 adopted as an emergency.
Niel C. Korte was sworn in as the new Chief of Police for the Village of Evendale. Chief Korte introduced his family and friends. Teri Korte pinned on the captain's badge and Chief Foust presented Chief Korte with eagle wings.
A motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Vonderhaar and seconded by Mr. Albrinck and unanimously approved. Meeting was adjourned at 7:15.
